Gap Year

A gap year is an intentional period of time spent away from formal education for a young person to get “real world” experience and understand who they are outside of a classroom. Through experiential learning and foundational skill development, students have the opportunity to work, volunteer, travel, focus on their physical and mental well-being, and engage in activities that support their passions and interests and help provide clarity for life’s next steps.

Thinking of taking an intentional break before more formal education (or already on a gap year but feeling a little stuck in taking your next step)?

We help you decide, plan and access tools that support a purposeful gap year.

CANGAP

Discover Year is an innovative one-year life skills program that helps young adults better understand what they want and build the skills they need to go out and get it. Our students build stronger self-awareness, confidence, communication skills and resilience to thrive in whatever education or career path they take.
